Climate change Performance Index Countries List

The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) is an annual assessment that evaluates and compares the climate protection performance of 63 countries and the European Union, collectively responsible for over 90% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The CCPI analyzes countries based on 14 indicators across four categories:

Greenhouse Gas Emissions (40% weight)

Renewable Energy (20% weight)

Energy Use (20% weight)

**Climate Policy (20% weight)

In the CCPI 2024, the top-ranked countries are:

4th Place: Denmark

5th Place: Estonia

6th Place: Philippines

7th Place: Morocco

8th Place: Chile

9th Place: Sweden

10th Place: India

Notably, the first three positions remain unoccupied, as no country achieves a performance deemed "very high" across all categories. Denmark leads the index but still falls short of the highest rating.

Among the G20 nations, only the United Kingdom (6th) and India (10th) are ranked as high performers. Conversely, countries like South Korea (63rd),

The CCPI serves as a vital tool for enhancing transparency in international climate politics, enabling comparisons of climate mitigation efforts and progress among countries. It underscores the need for increased action, even among top performers, to align with global climate goals.
