AIBEA's Key Demands

AIBEA has requested several reforms to improve the recruitment process:

• Officer recruitment should be completed before Clerk recruitment.
• Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) should be conducted before final/provisional allotment.
• Reduce vacancy wastage caused when candidates qualify for both PO and Clerk posts.
• Ensure faster joining of selected candidates.
• Increase clerical recruitment to address staff shortages in public sector banks.

These proposals aim to make the recruitment process more efficient and ensure that fewer vacancies remain unfilled.

Why These Changes Matter

According to AIBEA, when Probationary Officer (PO) and Clerk recruitment are conducted simultaneously, many candidates selected for both eventually join as POs. This leaves allotted clerk positions vacant, delaying recruitment and increasing workload in bank branches.

Conducting Officer recruitment first and LLPT before allotment is expected to:
